“Everyone we’ve had contact with at SBL Group has been professional, friendly and polite. They are all incredibly knowledgeable about their products and I can’t think of when anyone has told us that something can’t be done – even the most complex requests are met with a smile and possible solution.”
Hayley Lane, Deputy General Manager at Tortworth Court
Tortworth Court Hotel has upgraded its guest-to-staff communications capabilities by replacing a traditional switchboard and radio system with a modern, digital PBX* solution that implements VoWLAN** handsets.
The new technology solution has dramatically improved communications across the site, cutting through complexity, and enabling specific hotel employees to be contacted much more easily at all times.
Tortworth Court Hotel is an exclusive, four-star, 190-bedroom Gloucestershire Grade II listed building, whose history dates back to the mid-19th Century. Hayley Lane concluded by saying: “SBL Group were selected for the project based on their strong credentials and client testimonials, their strong previous experience of working with Swisscom, and also on their strong value for money.”
* PBX = Private Branch Exchange
** VoWLAN = Voice Over Wireless LAN (Local Area Network)
“SBL Group went beyond the extra mile to ensure that Hotel La Tour implemented the best technology and design, and worked with the very best suppliers.”
Adrian Colman, Operations Director at the hotel
Hotel La Tour Birmingham has surpassed its guests’ expectations for technology with a comprehensive suite of SBL Group services that includes advanced room telephony, universal Wi-Fi and ultra-fast broadband.
The city-centre hotel wanted to be seen as offering a more cutting-edge guest experience than its competitors, and especially among the business community. Guests can connect their devices wirelessly to strong, high-speed internet from anywhere in the hotel.
The touch-screen telephones located in each of the 174 rooms enable easy operation of functions such as lighting and air conditioning, and also provide information on the hotel and its surrounding attractions. Of course, it’s also possible to use them to make telephone calls, and they provide a wide range of advanced call features.
Delivering the comprehensive solution included providing all the internal cabling infrastructure (including Cat6 and fibre lines for data, and ISDN30 for voice); establishing a 100MB super-fast fibre connection to the Internet; installing and integrating the sophisticated telephone system; providing adequate Wi-Fi router capacity, and then performing the final deployment, and delivering ongoing maintenance and support of all services. There was extensive consultancy before and during deployment, and strong engagement from senior-level SBL Group staff throughout.
SBL Group provided it’s Qunifi Horizon product for Furniture Village so that they can benefit from affordable telecommunications to their stores through the UK. Through its quick deployment it can meet the demands of the retail market to quickly implement a robust and feature rich solution to their staff.
By utilising the Qunifi Enterprise solutions this delivered the ability for them work seamlessly through their multiple office locations throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. By aggregating their telephony system and their ISDN services SBL Group are to provide an all encompassing communications solution.
“When we have needed assistance from an SBL Group engineer, whether on the phone or on site, they have been truly friendly and helpful. By being a responsive supplier our relationship with SBL Group has now evolved into a trusted partnership.”
Mel Court, the Surrey school’s ICT Manager
The Royal Alexandra and Albert School has achieved considerable cost savings by appointing SBL Group as Support and Maintenance contractors for its phone and cabling systems, while also benefitting from strongly improved service quality.
The Support and Maintenance contract covers the Royal Alexandra and Albert School’s (RAAS) existing Alcatel-Lucent OXE phone system as well as all its Cat5e and fibre cabling, and also includes a “moves, additions and changes” service. That means that, as the school has expended and added new buildings, SBL Group has connected them to their LAN and telephony network, ensuring effective connectivity throughout.
The adoption of Cat5e cabling has especially benefited RAAS for several reasons. As well as being easy to install, less cable is required because Cat5e can transfer multiple signals simultaneously. Moreover, data can be downloaded more quickly, so networks run faster as compared with other kinds of cabling.
RAAS is a predominantly state-run boarding school, set in 260 acres of Surrey parkland, and provides education for pupils aged 7 to 18.
Through our understanding of the demands placed on staff within a hospital environment and the critical need to have a robust communications platform we implemented an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise based solution. Thus enabling Royal Brompton & Harefield trust access to the latest technology whilst retaining it’s investment in existing infrastructure.
“SBL Group have always and continue to deliver first class service and support to Calor Gas.”
John Kelly, IT Project Manager, Calor Gas
SBL Group are proud to promote our partnership with Calor Gas. We implement and support Calor Gas and their data network infrastructure. SBL Group worked with Calor to create a solution delivering installation, configuration and support comprising of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise LAN equipment.
It’s a reputation earned through a total dedication to quality, innovation and customer service that’s been the hallmark of the company since it was established in the 1890’s (originally trading as Pegler Ltd and Yorkshire Fittings Ltd).
SBL Group are a long term technology partner of Pegler Yorkshire delivering both hardware and support services to all of their locations throughout Europe. Recently one of these locations was effected by severe flooding and as part of the effects of this was irreparable damage to that sites PBX. SBL Group were engaged to create a short term resolution to enable that site to continue to function whilst investigating longer term solutions.
Pegler Yorkshire selected SBL Group to provide an up-to-date software based telephony system that both meets and exceeds its current requirements whilst having the flexibility to meet any future demands.
We would love to hear from you!
